Where the Wild Things Are

In the quiet moments that followed,
she laid beside him.

His quiet breath so calming.
Such peace beneath the wildness,
And she wondered,

Of growing up

And learning to hide the wildness,
In exchange for peace.

For the Wild Things cry out
From the depths of her heart,

And suddenly, after 31 years,

She finally understands Where The Wild Things Are.
